CHECK YOUR NAME!

Philippians 2:9-11 (9) – Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, (NIV)

Naming is just as important as a birth because it gives identity. God demonstrated the importance He placed on identification when He assigned Adam to name the animals (Genesis 2:19-20). Similarly, in today’s Bible reading, God gave Christ a name, which is higher than every other name. Therefore, a name depicts who a person is or might become. For example, Jabez was destined for greatness, but the name his mother gave to him at birth destroyed his glory until he prayed (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).

There was another brother who seemed to be very rich and robust. But he was suffering, and no one would help him. Consequently, he went on dry fasting and prayed so that God revealed that his problems originated from his name. After investigations, he discovered that one of his names meant ‘A man suffering but shining’. I decree! Every unfavourable name given to you; shall expire, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, what is your name– have you asked and examined the meaning? This is important because many have been named after gods and animals. Destinies have been manipulated, and people with great potentials now operate in the valley of life. However, there is good news; which is that you can fight (pray) your way out as Jacob got a new identity (Israel– Genesis 32:22-32) and Saul changed to Paul (Acts 13:9). You may also have been labelled with a sinful name or past, but if you accept Christ; He shall give you a new life (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Hymn: Jesus Saves – Priscilla J. Owens (1882)

02. Satanic invisible name(s), controlling my destiny, scatter!

03. Thou corruption in my foundation and destiny, cease now. Father, please show me who I am!

04. My original sacrificed on the altar of demonic names and manipulation, be revived and released!
