John 8:31-47 (34) – Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin (NLT).

Anyone who commits iniquity is a slave of the devil as confirmed by our Bible reading. A fellow who idolise money or jewellery (Matthew 6:21), including hating, lying, gossiping, committing immoralities, among other sins (Revelation 21:8), is a slave of the action! Whatever drives your thoughts, is your lord. That is why we must guard our heart and be cautious that whenever we sin, we are paying loyalty to Satan (Proverbs 4:23-27).

No matter the sweetness of sin, there are consequences attached to it (Ezekiel 18:20-24). And, no sane human loves to perish because we all desire the freedom and salvation that Christ gives (John 8:36). Therefore, we should not join the citizens of the world to do immoral things. Instead, we ought to live a Christ-worthy life (Romans 12:1-2).

Beloved, are you tired of living a life of sin? If yes! Irrespective of how addicted or unforgiving your past is, with Jesus; you are guaranteed a new beginning (2 Corinthians 5:17). All you need do is to repent, confess and surrender to the saving grace in Jesus’ name. You shall no more be a slave. Amen. Hallelujah! (1 Thessalonians 5:22-24)
