2 Kings 4:16-37 (26)
Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ”And she answered, “It is well.” (NKJV)

We could see from our text that the Shunammite woman, despite losing her son was so courageous that when asked about the child, she would say: “It is well”. This woman placed her gaze beyond the current travails until her son got revived. Similarly, in 1 Samuel 17:32-58, little David looked further than the danger posed by the roaring Goliath, and conquered him!

Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of America (1861-1865) at 52 having contested elections since age 27. He looked beyond his electoral failures until he got to the White House. Think about it! What if he had quit? Would he have got into the book of history?

Beloved, that’s why your present status or condition wouldn’t matter if you don’t give up (Job 14:7-9). Because “Testimonies are born out of tests”. Therefore, refuse to be distracted by this period of the year, you can still finish well.

Focus on the maximum prize (dreams and goals); for your glory days are too near to quit. Hold on and be Born Again! (Isaiah 59:1-2).

Hymn: I Need Thee Every Hour – Annie S. Hawks (1872)

  1. Lord Jesus, please cause me to rise above every storm, and make me a solution to others’ problems!

“If you bow to that challenge, you are a coward.” (Proverbs 24:10)
