STAY WITH GOD
Genesis 26:12-13 (12)
Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. (NIV)
There came a season of scarcity of food and resources during the era of Isaac. Regardless, the Lord told Isaac not to go down to Egypt but to stay in Gerar so he could enjoy the divine presence and be blessed. As seen in our Bible reading, Isaac obeyed and became prosperous in the land.
The current world situation can be likened to the famine in Isaac’s days. Nations are indebted, and the cost of living is rising, even in top countries. Be that as it may, God does not want His children to depend on Egypt. Egypt was the most powerful country during those old times. Egypt represents human ideology and personal strength, or elegance that does not glorify God (Isaiah 31:1). Therefore, God wants us to focus on Him for timely instructions that will prosper our ways.
A woman had the prompt to resign from her teaching job and go into catering. God specifically told her to sell packaged bean cakes at the college where she previously worked as a teacher. At first, she felt ashamed but obeyed God, and today, her products are ordered globally. Beloved, amidst the economic and security challenges, I encourage you to build your relationship with God to the extent that you can hear and swiftly abide by the leading of the Holy Spirit. God will direct your path to prosperity in the same way He did for Isaac.
Hymn: Jesus Saves — Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
Thank God for providing for you and meeting your needs.
Father, terminate the curses of hardship and struggles that are entangled with my life.
Father, I am ready to obey You. Please change my story and make me a solution for my generation.
Father, please provide for my daily needs so that I will lack nothing.
Holy Spirit, open my eyes to where and what I will do to prosper.
