Proverbs 23:18 – There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (NIV)

The Bible tells us of Elisha who served Elijah diligently and got the double portion of his anointing. Consequently, Elisha had a servant (Gehazi) who ought to possess his mantle. But because Gehazi was in haste to rise (greed), he missed it (2 Kings 5:20-27). Similarly, Judas Iscariot found his way into the negative side of history because he lusted after the mundane things to betray Jesus (Luke 22).

Nowadays, several unprepared youths jump into marriage because of sex or family and peer-pressure, only to end up regretting! Many people also aspire to be great men and women of God, but they are unwilling to pay the price. There is a process in everything; even when Christ said, ‘greater works than this shall you do’ (John 14:12), there are more to it—there are actions involved before you can command the forces of darkness to obey (holiness, prayer, commitment to God and service).

Beloved, are you struggling with your developing stage? If yes! Hold on, serve that master, people or role carefully and don’t emerge before you are due because there is a time for your rightful acceleration, as our Bible reading affirms. You will get there!

  1. Father, help me never to skip the defining procedures to my destiny.

  2. Lord Jesus! Please, cause me to fly high in my field of specialisation

  3. Thank God for the year thus far.

  4. As I step into the ‘Ember Months’, Father, please change my story to glory (mention).

  5. Lord, terminate timidity, pride and anxiety in my life; and give me meekness.
