1 Samuel 17:1-57 (32)
And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. (KJV)
“Life is likened to a 100m hurdle race where you need to fly over to win. Those hurdles are the challenges!”
The Philistines in our text posed a challenge to the Israelites. What represents a Philistine in your life? Sickness? But, you lived happily before the doctor diagnosed you of that disease. Now, you live in fear! (Spirit of Philistines). Ah! People who want you as slaves all your life are also your Philistines! I decree every fear, strife and diagnosis are wiped out, in Jesus’ name.
In Verse 8, Goliath boasted: ‘Choose a man and let him fight me…’. Who is your Goliath? They are those mighty problems and voices crying against you. Today! In the name of Jesus, your Goliath has crumbled. The Israelites were so afraid, but little David rose (vs 26), took five stones (JESUS) and drove the first one into Goliath’s skull before cutting his head!
Beloved, you are going to pray because irrespective of your Philistines and Goliath, you shall win! Why? Because Proverbs 24:16A confirms that: ‘For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.’ However, are you a just man? If not! Get Born Again (Isaiah 59:1-2)
