Matthew 21:1-11 (7): They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it. (NLT)

A man in America would volunteer to drive a pastor whenever he held a crusade in the country. The pastor, during one of his visits, brought gifts for the man’s children unknowing to him that he was married for 19 years without a child. But the man accepted the gifts by faith. You know what? That year, they had their child. Why? Because he made self-sacrifice to God.

Similarly, as Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem in our text, the crowd gathered to hail Him, so that among them were all kinds of people. There are the spectators, the ones who applauded Him, and others who held palm leaves and spread their valued clothing on the way to honour Jesus.

Beloved, on which side are you? Just a churchgoer, prayer monitor, offering and congregation observer or a genuine Kingdom builder (Ephesians 6:7-8). Oh! Can you be a vessel by which many would get saved? Are you ready to be a ‘Servant for the Master’s purpose’ even as that donkey was never touched (purity) until Christ’s use? Therefore, examine yourself and commitment today. Get active in God’s vineyard and maximise the genuineness of His love and power by telling the world about redemption (Romans 5:6-11). In all, your labours shall never go unrewarded (Hebrews 6:10-12). Be Born Again!

Hymn: Work, for the Night, is Coming – Anna L. Coghill (1854)

1. I refuse to be an unprofitable servant. Therefore, Father, make me a doer of Your Word.

2. Lord, reveal Your will to me and my calling.
