James 5:19-20 (20) If you turn sinners from the wrong way, you will save them from death, and many of their sins will be forgiven. (CEV)
It’s another Christmas in 34 days; people have started buying gifts and planning their travels. So, what present are you sharing? Have you thought of the reason behind the celebration and what the best gift could be?
Daily, many lives and destinies perish. People commit all kinds of sin and atrocities, whereby incurring the physical and God’s wrath (Colossians 3:6). However, all thanks to divine love and grace which are sufficient for us! (2 Corinthians 12:9). In that, a chapter of redemption (compassion and forgiveness) was opened when Christ bled at Calvary. Oh! See what Romans 5:8 says:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (NKJV)
God gave us His son while we were vulnerable to the devil (John 3:16). Hallelujah! How many of us could do such; to give your only child for sacrifice? Impossible! Therefore, what the Lord require(s) of you, is to emulate Him in holiness and genuine love (John 13:35); thereby introducing Jesus to others, daily!
WHAT NOW? Having a plan for soul-winning this season (and always) would be the greatest gift and feeling of a lifetime (Proverbs 11:30). Not only because you’re rescuing the perishing as our text affirms, but you shall also get rewarded! (Daniel 12:3).
However, firstly check, are you yet saved? If no, be Born Again! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Hymn: Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling — Will L. Thompson (1880)
1. Father, let my glory so shine for people to see and come to Your light!
2. Father, give me the grace to spread Your love and message to the world.
3. Ask for three hard things you want as a Christmas gift!
